 Introduction


The Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is an efficient water treatment equipment. lt can effectivelyremove suspended solids and oils in wastewater. By separating these substances, it simultaneouslyreduces BOD, COD, and TSS levels. This makes it highly suitable for treating wastewater from variousindustries, including textile, paper - making, slaughterhouse, food, and chemical industries.The DAF works by dissolving air in water under pressure and then releasing it in a flotation tank.The released air forms tiny bubbles that adhere to suspended matter, causing it to float to the surfacefor easy removal.

Suspended surface hydrophilic and hydrophobic . Hydrophobic particles easilyattached to the surface of the bubble, which can be used flotation method.Hydrophilic granules can be rendered hydrophobic by proper chemical treatment.Dissolved air flotation in water treatment, coagulant commonly used to formcolloidal particles into flocs, floc with a network structure, easy to trap bubbles,thereby enhancing the flotation efficiency. Furthermore, surfactants, such asdetergents, can form bubbles in the water and also have the effect of adheringsuspended particles together.

The wastewater enter RT1 (coagulation reaction tank) and RT2

(flocculation reaction tank) from the equalization tank through the lift

pump, and coagulates with PAC floculates with (PAM) respectively form

the flocs.

Then the wastewater and dissolved water enter the reaction zone of the

DAF tank, and the microbubbles and flocs in the dissolved water are

mixed and adhered to form solid particles ,which the density less than

water, and float up to the surface of the DAF tank .

Under the action of buoyancy, scum is scraped to the slag tank. The clean

water is collected down to the collect tank through the water collecting

pipe, and most of the outer water is discharged (or into the next

process), and a small part of the water is recirculated to form the

dissolved water.
